As from today a new application installer is available on the PISO server, as many know fantastico which is (and stays available) installed on this server we added Installatron for our users.
Some of the benefits of Installatron over Fantastico include:
* Installatron has a much faster new-version-updating.
* Official set of installers are automatically enabled and updated.
* Users can create and restore snapshots/backups of installed applications at any time.
* Installatron will offer to create a backup prior to upgrading an installed application so that the upgrade can be reverted if something doesn’t work out.
* Users can import existing manual installs into the Installatron system for easy backups and upgrading.
* Supports root-directory and password-protected-directory installs.
* We are able to create our own installers. If you as a customer needs a package installed over and over again, we can assist you in making a fully automated installation.
We will concider to install Installatron on our other servers on request of our customers.
