[Dutch] KPN & XS4ALL only heeft sinds het begin van de middag te maken met een landelijke internetstoring. Dat heeft een woordvoerder van het telecommunicatiebedrijf bevestigd. Wanneer de problemen zijn opgelost is nog niet bekend.

SpamAssassin 2010 bug

The cPanel Quality Assurance team discovered a bug within the SpamAssassin ruleset that will mark messages sent in the year 2010 (that’s today) and beyond with a higher spam score than expected. This bug can result in legitimate mail being flagged as spam.

The cPanel Development team has issued a hot fix that will address this issue and will automatically update the SpamAssassin ruleset to resolve this issue.

This patch has been installed to all 040 Hosting managed servers but we advise customers to check their spam box more thorougly and to check their mail of the past days if they have enabled spamassassin in their cPanel.

Due to unexpected load caused by our new firewall setup a quick reboot of the server was needed. This caused a less as 15 minutes downtime from 11:15 till ~11:27; we are sorry for the inconvience this may have caused you as customer.

Piso server issues

Last night at 12:30 GMT+1 the PISO server started to show problems, we have investigated the issue and found that there where some issues with the kernel. We needed to recompile and rebuild some parts of the system. This caused some downtime on the server. This issue has been resolved and we are monitoring the server closely to prevent this from happening again.

Planned Network Maintenance for October 12th

Please note that we have a planned a network maintenance window from 06:00 GMT+1 to 10:00 AM GMT+1 Sunday in the New Jersey Facility, October 12th. The window is to upgrade one of the distribution switches. Although this maintenance is limited to one distribution switch, it has the potential to affect all customers in the New Jersey Datacenter so we are notifying everyone.

We are allowing four hours for the maintenance, but the actual downtime should be much less if the upgrade goes smoothly. We are aiming for as little downtime as possible, however as the maintenance will include potential replacement of all blades on the switch we are stretching for a much larger window.

Please be advised of this scheduled maintenance window and allow for adequate time to pass before opening up any support tickets during this maintenance window. We thank you in advance for your time and understanding in this matter.

Affected Servers: Only the New Jersey based servers.

Please note that we have a scheduled network maintenance window from 6:00 to 7:00 AM GMT+1 Sunday, September 28th. The purpose of this scheduled maintenance is to upgrade the supervisor card in one of our distribution switches.

Although this maintenance is limited to one distribution switch, it has the potential to affect all customers so we are notifying everyone.

We are allowing one hour for the maintenance, but the actual downtime should be much less if the upgrade goes smoothly. We are aiming for as little as 15 minutes of downtime.

New Jersey / Fortress ITX DC maintenance

Dallas Network Issue [09/23/2008]

While we did not receive reports or did see any network issues between mentioned times; it is possible that other visitors using other Internet Service Providers did have problems accessing the servers located in the Dallas Datacenter.

At approximately 9:34 PM GMT+1, Our Data center Engineers were alerted to multiple routing anomalies within our Dallas core network. The Engineers isolated this issue to a memory issue in the Cisco IOS software causing multiple OSPF and BGP sessions to reset across the core infrastructure thus affecting customer connectivity which would have resulted in high latency and packet loss as routes re-converged. The Data center Engineers proceeded to upgrade and reload each core router one at a time gracefully thus reducing impact to customer connectivity. The network was stabilized around 11:50 PM GMT+! and Network Engineers will continue to monitor the situation.
