.NL Domeinnamen verhuizen naar 040Hosting
Om uw .nl-domeinnaam te verhuizen naar 040Hosting vraagt u bij uw huidige provider de token. Deze token gebruikt u tijdens de verhuizingsaanvraag op onze website. De verhuizing wordt na maximaal vijf dagen doorgevoerd. Binnen deze vijf dagen kan de huidige provider de verhuizing accorderen met als gevolg dat de verhuizing sneller wordt doorgevoerd.

Uw huidige provider is verplicht deze token te verschaffen. Mocht deze in gebreke blijven dan kan 040Hosting voor u contact opnemen met uw huidige provider. In het uiterste geval schakelt 040Hosting de uitgevende instantie (SIDN) in.

Transfer of a .NL domain
The procedure to transfer a .nl domain has been changed; each domain registration will now be provided with a token, this token is an authorization code (as known from .com .transfers where its called the EPP code or Auth-Code) and is needed to transfer a domain to an other registrar.

Transfering a domain .NL to  040Hosting
If you like to transfer your .nl-domain to 040Hosting you will need to request the transfer token from your current-registrar. This token is needed during your transfer request on our website. The transfer will take a maximum of 5 days although your current registrar will be able to speed up this process by accepting the transfer.

[.NL] DRS5 Verhuizing procedure / DRS5 Transfer procedure

In line with our announcement of 28 November 2009, SIDN’s Whois service has been modified with effect from this morning. Less information is now available about each .nl registrant. The changes are designed to protect registrants’ privacy, as requested by the local internet community during the 2008 Domain Name Debate.

SIDN’s Whois service is a website application that members of the public can use to look up information about .nl domain names. You can check, for example, whether a given domain name is available for registration. It is also possible to find contact details for the registrants of names that have already been registered. If the registrant is a private individual – a ‘natural person’, not an organisation – his or her contact details constitute personal information. During the 2008 Domain Name Debate, the internet community’s interest in having access to registrants’ contact details was weighed up against the individual’s interest in keeping personal information private. The outcome of the debate was a decision that less information about each registrant should be available to the general public. SIDN’s Dispute Resolution Regulations for .nl Domain Names have been revised in line with the changes to the Whois service. Under the revised regulations, a complainant is no longer required to send a copy of the complaint to the registrant. The revised regulations and model complaint are available here.

Steady growth in the number of .nl domain names in 2008

Green or grey
The study involved finding out whether the 3.3 million-plus .nl domain names were hosted by ‘grey’ or ‘green’ service providers. The findings indicate that roughly one in eight (11.3%) of .nl domain names are hosted by firms operating on a CO2-neutral basis – in other words using (only) green energy, or offsetting grey-energy CO2 emissions by funding the plantation of trees.

In March of this year, the European Commission decided that by 2015 the ICT sector had to cut its CO2 emissions by 20 per cent. Since the Dutch ICT sector is expanding rapidly, the target represents a major challenge for all market players, including SIDN and Cleanbits.

level domain, has announced the General Availability of domains for all businesses. From today, large
and small businesses can register and begin using their own .tel domain, opening up new
communication channels with customers and making themselves more accessible online.

Commenting on the general availability, Khashayar Mahdavi, CEO of Telnic said: “The launch of .tel
represents the most significant innovation for the internet since .com. With prices ranging from $14 to
$35 a year, .tel domains represent incredible value for money to companies of all sizes, especially given
the increased discoverability a .tel provides them through search engine optimisation.”

Tens of thousands of businesses worldwide have already registered their .tel domains, ranging from
international corporation Nestlé (nestle.tel) to local company Bellwood’s Removals (removals.tel) of
Huddersfield in the United Kingdom.

Today a number of new organizations announced that they were to begin selling .tel domains to
customers, including MySpace, German directory services organization iWelt and BT. BT will begin
selling .tel domains in May, initially in association with its social networking site for small businesses BT
Tradespace, www.bttradespace.com. BT Tradespace is a 300,000 strong community that provides the
latest social media tools to small businesses so they can attract and engage with customers and
partners.

Arnhem, 13 maart 2009 – Momenteel ontvangt SIDN veel klachten over aanmaningen die .nl-domeinnaamhouders ontvangen van Network Mediagroup (NMG). Houders van een .nl-domein worden door NMG benaderd via een aanmaning. Hierin wordt gewezen op het uitblijven van een betaling voor de registratie van hun domeinnaam onder andere extensies, zoals .eu, .info of .com. Zij bieden aan deze varianten alsnog te registreren en vragen daar € 229 voor. Wij raden iedereen met klem aan niet over te gaan tot betaling.

Optreden waar mogelijk
SIDN zal voor zover mogelijk hard optreden tegen deze praktijken. Wij kunnen echter alleen actief optreden tegen de fraudeurs als daar rechtsgronden voor zijn. Dat is bijvoorbeeld het geval als wanneer het bedrijf u namens SIDN zegt te benaderen. Voor zover ons bekend is hiervan geen sprake. Fraudemeldpunt
Registrars en domeinnaamhouders die op de hierboven beschreven of soortgelijke wijze benaderd zijn, adviseren wij met klem niet in te gaan op de aanbieding van NMG. SIDN warns for yet another fraud case.

Arnhem, 05 March 2009 – SIDN has recently started receiving fresh complaints from registrars and registrants about a business called GT@P, whose activities previously attracted adverse comment in 2007. GT@P approaches .nl registrants and urges them to have their domain names listed in the WorldWideWeb Register, so that the register remains up to date. The cost of this listing service, which is hidden in the small print of the contract, is €957 per edition of the register. The contract covers three editions, so the total cost amounts to €2,871.

What can SIDN do?
Wherever possible, SIDN will take robust action to eliminate disreputable practices. However, we can act only where we have legal grounds for doing so – if, for example, a caller claims to represent SIDN. As far as we are aware, there has been no such misrepresentation in this case. If you have any information about this matter, please let us know by contacting support@sidn.nl.
