Many recommended 040Hosting for my needs and I switched from 1and1 to them a while ago. I have been mostly dealing with Patrick and his support and service exceeded my expectations. Our site is on a shared hosting plan. Our site needs (bandwidth and disk space) didn’t completely fit in with their usual hosting packages so they created one for our needs.
Let me start with saying their prices are very affordable while their servers are on a really high level.
Their support is just amazing, the best I have seen at any hosting provider.
I’m currently with 040hosting.eu. Their support is great, I’ve never experienced a downtime, and the prices are unexpensive. The only thing I dislike is that they force a RVSkin into cPanel accounts, but that doesn’t really matter.
040hosting team update: About the RvSkin some like it; others hate it; if you rather have the default cPanel skin you only have to tell us, and we switch you to it. Update 2019: we no longer offer the RVSkin.

040Hosting might not be the cheapest choice but I can guarantee that it’s worth every cent! Simply amazing!
I’ve used several hosts, but 040 offers the best service by far. I started with a $1.50 per month plan for a small site, and even with that I was getting email help from the owner on a Sunday! I’ve since added a reseller account and couldn’t be happier.

13 years of not only giving me great support as per the hosting plans.
When I sometimes ask for advice for optimal webperformance on my end (so not on the server side),
I get that extra bonus as well.
And these days FOC upgrades from the old SATA packages to the new SSD packages 🙂
In other words: 040hosting keeps on updating what they have on offer: without me loosing sleep on it.
